Student Cruises

The rich history of the Potomac is available for classroom groups to enjoy. Each tour is narrated live by Potomac Education Docents.

WHAT WE DO:

Potomac Educational Programs

  • The Potomac’s Education Programs have served over 30,000 school children since 1995
  • The programs use the ship as a platform for educating students and opening their eyes to the marvels of the Bay, its ecology, economy, and the history that makes America great.
  • The experiential learning opportunity offered on board the Potomac is like no other. It is a hands-on, non-classroom based program.
  • The Potomac has supported the Educational Programs through operating income with no funding from other sources, private or public.
  • With new sources of support, the Potomac’s Educational Programs could be greatly expanded to include more Oakland and Bay Area Schools, and more extensive programming.
