Dockside tours


On the following dockside tour dates special events are scheduled that will either shorten OR cancel our dockside tour hours. Please call (510) 627-1215 to confirm that the ship will be open for tours prior to making a trip to Jack London Square and the Potomac.  Thank you.

The Potomac is open for docent-led dockside tours most Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays year-around; some holidays are excluded. On holidays, call (510) 627-1215 before departing for Jack London Square to confirm that we are open.

Tours begin with a 15-minute video in the Visitor Center following by a 45 minute to 1 hour docent led tour of the ship. The video provides a glimpse of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s use of the Potomac, emphasizing the impact of his administration on the country, and the Potomac restoration story.


Dockside Tours – Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays; 11:00am to 3:00pm; Last tour departs at 2:30pm.

All tours begin in the visitor's center at 540 Water Street.

Reservations are required for group tours of 10 or more.

$10 – General Admission; Ages 13 - 59
$8 – Senior Admission; Ages 60 and over
Free – Youth Admission; Ages 12 and under

School classes may be eligible for special pricing. Advanced reservations are required.

Washington Street Garage between 2nd and Embarcadero Streets, one block from the Potomac. Sorry, we do not validate.

The Presidential Yacht Potomac does not fully comply with the facility access standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The facility allows limited access for the mobility impaired. Potomac docents or staff are available to provide access assistance to mobility-impaired individuals when the vessel is open to the public.
